Include Scopes in new Documents

When creating a new document, scope can be included. This makes it possible to add the new document to various collections and other levels. In addition to the scope of Technical Documentation and, for example, the Product Group, the corresponding references can also be included. If the "Include references" button is selected before the selection, it also includes all corresponding references. For example, in Technical Documentation, the references are the corresponding Product Groups. The references of the Product Group are the corresponding Products. This means that the respective lower level of the collection can be included as a reference.

  1. Through the drop-down menu, you can set the scope to the collection from where entries and related references should be linked to the new document.
  2. Then select all entries that should be referenced.
  3. Once the references have been assigned, you have the option to view them with the "Show selection" function and delete them if desired by removing the check mark. Now, lower levels can also be removed from the reference. If necessary, remove the tick to delete individual references again.

Important: To ensure that lower levels are not included in the selection, the "Include references" function must not be active. The button can be activated (highlighted) or deactivated. In the disabled state, selection options can be made, which then also exclude all lower levels.
